The Hydro Vac Operator is a crucial role responsible for the safe and efficient operation of hydro excavation equipment. This individual will operate specialized machinery to perform excavation and material removal while adhering to strict safety and environmental standards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Equipment Operation:**
- Operate hydro vac equipment, including high-pressure water systems and vacuum systems, to safely and efficiently excavate and remove soil, debris, and other materials.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and report any issues to the maintenance team.
2. **Excavation Procedures:**
- Perform hydro excavation at the specified locations as directed by job orders, plans, or supervisors.
- Use equipment controls and techniques to precisely expose underground utilities or structures.
3. **Safety and Compliance:**
- Adhere to all safety procedures, protocols, and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Follow and enforce relevant laws and regulations, such as OSHA, while performing duties.

- Report any incidents, accidents, or issues promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
5. **Environmental Responsibility:**
- Ensure that all materials are properly contained and disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Promote eco-friendly practices and minimize environmental impact during excavation.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Hydro Vac Operator in the hydro excavation industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of hydro excavation equipment, controls, and maintenance.
- Strong commitment to safety, with a history of safe work practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions.
